Welcome to the Release Notes for NetResults Tracker Software Development Kit (SDK) Version 6.5.0. Visit our web site for the most updated version of the Read Me.

  1. System Requirements

    Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and XML are used as a means of communication between NetResults Tracker and the external application using the NetResults Tracker Software Development Kit (SDK) to create new records by calling the NetResults Tracker Application Programming Interface (API). The NetResults Tracker SDK requires particular components (listed below) to be installed on the NetResults Tracker server (web server machine where NetResults Tracker Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition is installed) and the client (the machine where the external application and NetResults Tracker SDK are installed).

    1. NetResults Tracker Server Requirements

      The following components must be installed on the web server machine.

      • NetResults Tracker 6.5.0
        NetResults Tracker Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition version 6.5.0 (or a subsequent maintenance release such as 6.5.1, 6.5.2, etc.) is required for use of the SDK.

      • Operating System
        Windows Server 2003 (or 2003 R2), Windows Server 2008 (or 2008 R2), or Windows Server 2012 (or 2012 R2) is required for use of the SDK.

      • SOAP Interface
        Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0 must be installed on the machine where NetResults Tracker is installed. To download this component, browse to the NetResults Tracker General Downloads Page.

        Microsoft WinHTTP 5.1 and Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 are included when SOAP Toolkit 3.0 is installed.

      • Web Browser
        Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer is required for installation of Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0.

    2. NetResults Tracker Client Requirements

      The NetResults Tracker client is the machine where the external application calling the SDK is located. If the external application is located on the same machine where NetResults Tracker is installed, the only additional requirement beyond the NetResults Tracker Server Requirements above is the installation of the SDK itself.

      • NetResults Tracker SDK 6.5.0
        The NetResults Tracker SDK version 6.5.0 must be installed on the same machine as the client application which will use the API to communicate with the NetResults Tracker Server. It does not need to be installed on the NetResults Tracker Server machine.

      • Operating System
        Any of the following operating systems may be used on the client:
        • Windows Server 2012 (or 2012 R2)
        • Windows Server 2008 (or 2008 R2)
        • Windows Server 2003 (or 2003 R2)
        • Windows 8
        • Windows 7
        • Windows Vista

      • SOAP Interface
        Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0 must be installed on the machine where the external application resides. To download this component, browse to the NetResults Tracker General Downloads Page.

        When installing the SOAP Toolkit on the client machine only the following components are required to be installed:

        • ISAPI Listener
        • Microsoft XML Parser

        Microsoft WinHTTP 5.1 and Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 are included when SOAP Toolkit 3.0 is installed.

      • Web Browser
        Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer is required for installation of Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0.

  2. Installation Instructions

    1. Install NetResults Tracker SDK 6.5.0 on the same machine as the external application which will be adding records to NetResults Tracker. To do this, login to the machine where you want SDK to be installed as the local Administrator and then run (double-click from Windows Explorer) nrtsdk650.exe (NetResults Tracker SDK 6.5.0).
    2. Continue and complete the installation.
    3. Make sure that the Server and Client requirements (as mentioned above) are met.

    After installing NetResults Tracker SDK, you can refer to the system requirements for SDK, enabling and configuring NetResults Tracker SDK by reviewing the Help located at:

    Start > Programs > NetResults Tracker SDK > NetResults Tracker SDK Help
